[11.1] Lest memory of past deeds might disappear or perish with the course of time, the prudence of discreet men has accustomed to immortalize them by a letter.
[11.2] Thus let the present age learn and let posterity know, that I, C. of such and such place, an acutely ill person, have granted to the holy paupers of the Jerusalem hospital, that they might found a church on my land, and I have given to them the adjacent land with a grove for the perpetual beneficial use of those who might minister to that church.
